Sharda World School, Agra, organised an enriching Competency-Based Assessment Workshop on 29 June 2026, reaffirming its commitment to equipping educators with innovative teaching and assessment practices that align with the evolving needs of 21st-century education.

The workshop was conducted by Ms. Gayatri Vaswani, Founder Principal of Horizon Competition School, Agra, and an ISTM Certified Trainer. Drawing upon her extensive expertise, she guided teachers through the principles and practical application of competency-based assessment, enabling them to create meaningful learning experiences that promote higher-order thinking and conceptual understanding.

During the interactive session, Ms. Vaswani introduced educators to the process of designing effective competency-based worksheets that assess not only knowledge but also students' ability to apply concepts in real-life situations. She elaborated on the significance of Bloom's Taxonomy as a framework for developing questions that encourage analysis, evaluation, and creativity.

The workshop also focused on the characteristics of well-designed critical thinking questions, strategies for incorporating self-assessment into classroom practices, and various assessment techniques that foster reflective learning and continuous improvement. Teachers actively participated in discussions and practical activities, gaining valuable insights into creating assessments that are engaging, learner-centred, and aligned with the objectives of competency-based education.

The session served as an excellent platform for educators to enhance their assessment strategies while embracing innovative pedagogical practices that promote critical thinking, problem-solving, and independent learning among students.

At Sharda World School, we firmly believe that empowering teachers is the cornerstone of empowering learners. Through such professional development initiatives, the school continues to strengthen its academic practices and nurture an environment where both educators and students can achieve excellence.
