On Friday, 10th October 2025, Sharda World School, Keetham hosted the Inter-School Basketball (Boys) and English Elocution (Sub-Junior) competitions under the Association of Progressive Schools of Agra (APSA) session 2025–26, as part of a series of literary, sports, and cultural events.
The Basketball Tournament was organized for the Girls Category, witnessing participation from 10 schools, while the English Speech Competition (Sub-Junior Category) saw enthusiastic involvement from 18 teams, with a large number of students showcasing their skills.
The event was graced by distinguished guests, including Mr. Girdhar Sharma (Secretary, APSA), Mr. Pranjal Sharma (Executive Member, APSA), Mr. G. S. Rana (Vice President, APSA), Ms. Shivanjal Sharma (Manager, St. Andrews Premium School), Mr. Yuvraj Rana (Director, All Saints School), Mr. Sanjay Agarwal (Member, APSA), and Dr. Garima Yadav (Director, ELC and School Advisor). The Head of School, Mr. Satyaki Banerjee, extended a warm welcome to all the dignitaries.
The programme commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp and floral tribute to Goddess Saraswati, symbolizing the auspicious beginning of the event. Mr. Banerjee and Dr. Garima Yadav presented mementos of appreciation to the esteemed guests.
To add a cultural charm to the occasion, students of Sharda World School presented a melodious welcome song, celebrating the school’s rich heritage, followed by a traditional dance performance, which added grace and vibrancy to the atmosphere.
In his address, Mr. Satyaki Banerjee warmly welcomed everyone and appreciated the participants for their enthusiasm and dedication. Dr. Garima Yadav, in her inspiring speech, motivated the young competitors to participate with sportsmanship and positivity, emphasizing the true spirit of learning and competition.
The day began at 8:30 a.m. with the registration of participants. The jury panel for the English Speech Competition comprised Prof. Surendra Singh (Dean, Sharda World School of Smart Agriculture), Dr. Soni Sharma (Associate Professor, Sharda World School), and Ms. Aparajita Singh, who judged the participants based on content, fluency, and presentation.
The winners of the English Speech Competition (Sub-Junior Category) were as follows:
• 1st Position: Anvika Singh – St. Andrew’s Premium School
• 2nd Position: Mishpreet Kaur – Gayatri Public School (Unit I)
• 3rd Position: Aagya Sharma – St. C.F. Andrews School
• Consolation Prizes: Rohika Shivhare – Gayatri Public School (Unit II) and Mannat Sharma – St. Andrews Public School
The Basketball Tournament (Boys Category) was officiated by Mr. Ashish Verma, Mr. Shyamveer Singh, Mr. Kuldeep Singh, and Mr. Kanhaiya. The referees judged the matches based on scoring and overall performance. The results were as follows:
• 1st Position: St. Francis Convent School
• 2nd Position: Gayatri Public School, Shastripuram
• 3rd Position: All Saints School and Mahi International School
The successful conduct of the event highlighted Sharda World School’s commitment towards academic, cultural, and sports excellence. The competitions were held under the guidance of Physical Education Instructor Mr. Shakeel Khan and Ms. Disha Chopra, ensuring smooth coordination throughout.
